Howdy and Aloha! I’m Chris Swanson. My wife Emily and I have lived in College Station since 2019. We have 4 children ranging from 17-29 years old. We fell in love with this area while our oldest daughter attended and graduated from Texas A&M in 2015. We formerly started and owned a BBQ restaurant in Beaumont, TX and opened a second location here in College Station. Covid was not good to the mom-and-pop restaurants, so we decided to sell and get out of the restaurant business after 12 years. My wife went back to her previous occupation of teaching and is now getting her master’s at A&M. I have always been a jack of all trades, like my father. He built houses and restaurants, designed building and floor plans, loved horticulture, and built elaborate patios/decks. When Emily and I bought our first house, I became a handyman out of necessity. I did demo and construction. I eventually worked on everything from the roof, slab, plumbing, a/c, electrical, drainage, etc. Soon I realized that I enjoyed figuring out the details of how things work in a house. Owning two restaurants and a house I got plenty of experience in this area. I had looked into becoming a home inspector over 15 years ago, so, naturally, I knew what I wanted to do; become a Professional Home Inspector.

My family has a connection to Hawaii. My grandparents had a summer school where they took kids from the mainland to Kauai for school credit. My parents were chaperones for the summer school and fell in love with the island and the people. After I was born we moved to Kauai for a couple of years and I learned to walk on the beaches of Kauai. Eventually, we moved back to Texas. I have only been back a couple of times since but I can still feel that Aloha spirit.
